Real-Time vs Passive (DataLogger)GPS

A passive gps or datalogger requires you to place the gps under the vehicle or in the vehicle and then retrieve it to download the info to your computer. There are no monthly fees and the product cost is about $300 less than a real-time system. The data is the same as the real-time system. You get start and stop times, speed of vehicle, street addresses, you get satellite photos and a "bread crumb" trail. The software allows you to playback everywhere the vehicle has been!. The unit comes with the software and everything you need. The dataloggers will cost around $300.
